PEL Begins Export Operations to the USA with First Transformer Shipment

Pak-Elektron

LAHORE:* Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) has officially launched its export operations to the United States, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion strategy.

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), PEL announced that its first consignment of transformers departed from Pakistan on March 13, 2025. “This achievement reflects our commitment to exploring new international markets and enhancing our global footprint,” the company stated.

Founded in 1956 and acquired by the Saigol Group in 1978, PEL specializes in manufacturing domestic appliances and electrical capital goods. The company operates through two divisions: power and appliances. The power division produces transformers, switchgear, and energy meters, while the appliance division manufactures refrigerators, deep freezers, air conditioners, and other home appliances.

Over the years, PEL has formed strategic alliances with international brands such as Hitachi, Fujitsu, and General Electric.

Pakistan’s manufacturing sector has been making strides in global markets. Recently, Haleon Pakistan Limited exported Centrum multivitamins from its Jamshoro facility to Kenya, while Citi Pharma Limited (CPHL) completed its first-ever export to the MENA region, valued at EUR 560,000.

PEL’s expansion into the U.S. market underscores Pakistan’s growing footprint in international trade and industrial manufacturing.
